Marc R. May Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization Marc R. May places special emphasis on the area of family law. During his career, he has represented thousands of clients in divorce, property distribution, child support, visitation and custody, adoption, paternity, and other family law matters.Marc is experienced, hard working, and dedicated in his efforts to offer quality family law representation. Marc has practiced family law since 1980 and has been Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1986. During that time, he has been committed to protecting the rights of his clients and their children. His past experience in property division issues includes the representation of clients having large and complex estates. Marc has also previously been involved with the valuation and division of his clients' ownership in many different business entities. Marc's approach involves taking an aggressive stand when necessary. At the same time, he understands the value of resolving matters amicably if possible. To that end, he often uses alternative dispute resolution methods, such as mediation, in an attempt to negotiate a fair and equitable settlement for his clients. Marc understands that during the legal process, you will be faced with numerous choices and options. He firmly believes that open communication with his clients is crucial in order to achieve the best possible results. As your legal representative, he will keep you informed to help you understand the potential consequences of any choice or legal action. As a parent, Marc understands the possible emotional impact a family law matter can have on children. In addition to his family law practice Marc has extensive experience in the personal injury arena, where he has represented victims in catastrophic injury cases. He has successfully negotiated substantial settlements and received significant jury verdicts for accident victims, including a teenager who suffered a permanent brain injury in an automobile accident, a victim of sexual assault in a nursing home, and parents of small children who drowned in swimming pools. As are all attorneys at his firm, Marc is assisted by an experienced and competent staff. His personal legal assistant, Angie Davis, has twenty-five years experience as a legal assistant and has worked for Marc for fifteen years.
